Refund Policy

This Refund Policy explains how refunds and cancellations work for services purchased from Gem Publishers LLC(“we”, “us”). It applies to book publishing, cover design, editing and proofreading, formatting, audiobook publishing, printing and marketing services. By engaging our services you agree to the terms below.

Free consultation and quotes

Consultations and quotes are always free and carry no obligation. You only become a client once you approve a written quote and scope of work and make a payment.

Milestone-based billing

Projects are billed by milestone, so payments track the work as it is delivered. Each milestone represents work that our team completes and delivers for your review.

Cancelling before work begins

If you cancel before we begin work on a milestone, you are entitled to a full refund of any amount paid toward that milestone, less any third-party costs already incurred on your behalf (see below).

Cancelling after work has started

Once work on a milestone has started, that milestone is charged for the work completed up to the point of cancellation. Any portion you have paid for work not yet started is refundable. Milestones that have been completed and delivered are non-refundable.

Third-party and production costs

Some costs are paid to third parties and cannot be recovered once incurred — for example ISBNs, print runs and shipping, audiobook production, retailer or distribution fees, and advertising spend. These amounts are non-refundable once they have been committed on your behalf.

Revisions first

Every project includes revisions within the agreed scope. If you are not satisfied with a deliverable, please raise it through the revision process first — most concerns are resolved quickly this way before a refund is ever needed.

How to request a refund

To request a refund, email contact@gempublishers.com with your name, project details and the reason for your request. We aim to respond within two business days, and approved refunds are issued to your original payment method within 5–10 business days.
